My name is Paul Brayshaw, I live and work in Poole, Dorset. Woodland work and green
woodwork are my hobbies, I am passionate about maintaining and creating new woodlands
here in the UK. I support the Dorset Coppice Group in their work to promote sustainable
woodland management, and products. I have been involved with managing coppiced woodland,
both with the Dorset Coppice Group and the RSPB.
I have undertaken basic greenwood work training at the Cherrywood Project under the
watchful eyes of Tim Gatfield and hope to learn more there next year. My spoon carving
work I have had to learn primarily myself with the aid of many books and photos.
I am always keen to try new projects and designs. That's the beauty of working
with green wood, the wood moves as it dry's and many beautiful shapes can be found
in the raw materials.
