Wessex Wood Craft is a small business run by Paul Brayshaw, based in Poole, Dorset. Wood work and green wood work are my hobbies, I am passionate about maintaining woodlands here in the UK. I support the Dorset Coppice Group in their work to promote sustainable woodland management, and products. I have been involved with managing coppiced woodland, both with the Dorset Coppice Group and the RSPB.
I have undertaken basic green wood work training at the Cherrywood Project under the watchful eyes of Tim Gatfield and hope to learn more there in the future. My spoon carving work I have had to learn primarily myself with the aid of many books and videos. I am always keen to try new projects and designs. The beauty of working with green wood is the wood moves as it dry’s, and many beautiful shapes can be found in the raw material.
